Main Responsibility:
•
Develop database to manage biotech research data according to business requirement at SBC.
•
Gather user requirements for computing systems in SBC, and formalise into requirements spec for system/ application development & implementation.
•
Audit existing processes and develop the appropriate application functionality to increase efficiencies.
•
Provide training and hands-on assistance to the scientists on any new and/or existing functionality.
•
Prepare reports, presentations, and any other documentation required.

Qualification and Experience:
•
Experience in developing database systems using Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Server. (essential)
•
Knowledge in a variety of currently offered technologies on the market and their applications (e.g. Microsoft, VB, C++, Java, script, PERL, persistence frameworks).
•
Good knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Access) and Operating Systems
•
Understands the effective use of methods and tools for the development, maintenance of systems, and delivery of services.
•
Experience with Molecular Biology & Genomics & Bioinformatics environment preferred, not required.
•
Experience interacting with a variety of application inputs and outputs (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, Access, Excel, flat files).
•
Ability and motivation to learn and apply new solutions to existing issues.
•
B.S. degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related discipline and relevant work experience.
•
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
